December 18th 2010
Well its 8.19am and we are once again on the road – I had to mention from Ryan that we have a strong headwind at the moment so consuming a lot more fuel (need to stick behind the trucks I think)!
Olivia is happily watching “High 5” in the back (it’s keeping her quiet)! I’m attempting to type this blog as we are driving (quiet hard with all the bumps and all) and Ryan is listening to the radio and driving (hopefully safely lol)!
This morning we woke up and it was freezing cold – so we are all in tracky pants and jumpers – but as we are driving it’s warming up – we went to the bakery and got yummy croissants for breakfast this morning (Ryan told me it was too cold outside to cook bacon and eggs this morning lol)!
Today we hope to get to Kalgoorlie and do the touristy thing and check out the mines!
Well that’s it for me now – better get off the computer and enjoy looking at the scenery (hmmm trees, shrubs and dry dry land)!
Well we made it to Kalgoorlie and beyond – we went to the Superpit and had a look and also the lookout – but because it was Saturday arvo we decided to keep on going and check out Kalgoorlie on the way home when everything would be open!
Olivia at the super pit!
Me and Olivia
Notice the bandaid on on her knee - that's where she hurt herself - oh and she has to wear her boots everywhere - at her insistence....
Happily playing in the gravel....
Our setup.....
So we have ended up in Norseman – this is the furthest I have been by road now – I’ve been through Kalgoorlie through to Leonora about 3 times when Vanessa and Ryan were living there but no further – so this is all new to me! Ryan has travelled across Australia with his parents and then also when he was older with his mates!
Well Ryan is fixing one of the grease caps to the wheel bearings as we noticed it had been leaking – and Olivia is happily playing in the gravel – using her spade to put gravel in her bucket and then when it’s full tip it all out and start again! It’s 5pm and the mince is defrosting – nachos for dinner tonight!
Ok, well I’m going to download some photos and then put these posts on my blog – looking forward to another relaxing night – it’s a bit warmer here than in Merredin – oh yeah the flies are being very very pesky – really notice you are out in the country when they start to annoy you!
Till next post....
