Our Vegetable Garden to date......

A glimpse at what is growing in our vegetable garden....
Watermelon

Tomatoes

Capsicum

and more capsicum to come....

Chillies
Thyme

I'm now getting the soil ready to plant more vegetables in Autumn!
So why plant in Autumn:

The soil is still warm and roots grow strongly
Autumn plantings receive good rainfall in most parts of the country
As the humidity decreases so does the chance of diseases
Plants can establish themselves before the cold winter weather

What am I going to plant:

Broccoli
Harvest: Early Summer
Position: Full sun

Cauliflower
Harvest: Early Summer
Position: Full sun

Onions
Harvest: Winter - Spring
Position: Sun but will tolerate a little shade

Lettuce
Harvest: Winter - Spring
Position: Full sun but provide some shade in hot weather, if possible

Peas
Harvest: Summer
Position: Sun but will tolerate a little shade

Great looking veges - well done. We just planted one a few weeks back and they are all growing well - it's very exciting for the boys to look after.
