So what have I been up to. Myself and Ryan both started our holidays Monday 22nd December. So before Christmas we decided it was time to start looking for baby furniture etc. Monday we went to 3 baby shops and got prices for all that we needed. This way we could compare prices and negotiate. We ended up going to Baby on a Budget in Port Kennedy who said they would match any price and if we spent over $1000 (which is quiet easy to do when it's your first baby) we would get a 10% discount. Well we got most of our stuff which included the pram, port-a-cot, swing, baby car seat, cot sheet set etc etc. We didn't get a cot etc because we decided to look in the quokka to look for a good second hand cot and chest of drawers.
On Tuesday we went looking for paint and wall paper for the baby room. We ended up choosing the wall paper but won't be getting it till the end of January - so the the photos of the baby room below are not totally finished - still need the wall paper and a couple of other little things.
Wednesday we spent cleaning out the spare room which is now the baby room.
Thursday was Christmas Day. We had a Christmas Lunch at the beach with my family. Still can't believe the weather - it was very very windy and a bit chilly - I was wearing a jumper most of the day. For some reason I did not take my camera and so have no photos of Christmas Day. After lunch which ended at about 4.30 we went to Rockingham Foreshore and met up with Ryan's family who had spent the day at Garden Island. We had a BBQ Dinner.
Friday was spent sleeping in and relaxing and then off to my sister Joyce's place for a Boxing Day Dinner BBQ.
We were supposed to spend a couple days from Friday to Sunday in Mandurah at the caravan park with Willy and Bron Eilander but their whole family ended up getting gastro on Tuesday which lasted (well the last one getting it on Thursday). So we ended up only going down for the day on Saturday. Ryan & Willie went crabbing while me and Bron and kids went back to the caravan park and relaxed around the pool with a wine or two. We had a BBQ dinner and got home about 11pm that night.
The following Monday 29th December Ryan and myself spent painting the baby room.

A few sneek photos of the baby room - Isn't quiet finished as we still have to put wall paper on the wall and do a couple of other little things etc.
Tuesday 30th December - Amanda, Vanessa, Mum and myself went out for lunch to celebrate Mum's 60th. We went to Serpentine Dam to a little cafe. Was very nice and relaxing!
Finally it was New Years Eve. We celebrated at Willie and Bron's place with about 15 other people. It was a nice warm night so a lot of time was spent in the swimming pool - chilling and relaxing. It was a great night.
New Years Day we had a really really good sleep in. When we got up we decided to look through the quokka for any cots etc for sale. We came across one in Mandurah. Rang them up and sure enough they were home. We ended up coming home with a beautiful cot, change table and chest of drawers for $700 (she originally paid $2,000 2 years ago). It was in such good condition still and I am soooo happy with it. If we had bought a cot and chest of drawers brand new we would have been looking at paying $1,000 - now we have the 3 items for only $700. The quokka is soooooo good some times. Night time saw Ryan get gastro - oh yuck - So the next day and a half I was being nurse looking after Ryan. At the same time I was hoping that I would not catch it - I kept disinfecting everything and cleaning sheets etc etc. By Friday night he was feeling a lot better and on Saturday went and played Golf with his brother in laws Nigel & Ryan.
And so came along the last week of our holidays. Ryan decided that he needed to spend some time on his boat, so all this week he has spent full time at work trying to finish building his boat so that it would be ready for July this year when we hope to go to Cape Leveque once again for 6 weeks (permitting our new baby will be an easy baby - otherwise we might have consider cancelling). He has pretty much finished the basics and will be taking it home tomorrow to start on the wiring etc. Very proud of him - he has built the boat trailer from scratch and with the help of Willie has built himself a boat. When the boat is finished I'll post some progress photos to the finished result.
So for me this week has been about catching up with friends and family. Caught up with Bron on Wednesday and spent the day at her house relaxing around the pool (Bron pulled out the hammock - and I nearly fell asleep it was sooooo comfortable). Went and visited my parents on Tuesday. Visited my sister Joyce and her two little munchkins on Thursday - Connor and Jake - fun catching up coz all we talk about is babies and baby stuff - comparing stories etc. Had dinner at the beach with Katherine and Steve and their little boy Jack on Wednesday night. I love these summer months where at 9pm its just starting to get dark and the weather is still nice and warm. Tonight we are going to a park in Armadale for my nephew's Malcolm's B'day - I'm hoping its not toooooo warm (coz they don't get a seabreeze in Armadale like they do here in Rockingham).
Monday I'm back at work again. I'll more then likely be working for another 8 weeks everything permitting and then quit work. I am now 29 weeks. I still feel fantastic - only thing I notice is that I get tired quiet easily and am feeling the warm weather a bit. I just went for another check up yesterday and everything is going great. We go for a tour of the hospital next week Saturday and then the first Saturday in February we go to the antenatal class which runs all day Saturday - so looking forward to that.
I also spent a little time doing stampin up. I made a little gift box for my Mum's B'day (she turned the big 60 on December 20th) - We went there for lunch and had a great afternoon. I also made some little lollie gift bags for all my sister's for Christmas. Both of the ideas I got from Makeesha's Internet Site (link on the side of my page). She has sooooo many great ideas.
Well that about summarises what I've been up to. I'm looking forward to an exciting year with the arrival of our new little baby the Lord Willing at the end of March!! Till next blog I wish you all the best for a new year!!!

Great blog update Erica. I was hoping you'd get to update before you went back to work again. Looks like your pretty organised and have everything pretty much well set. Good job on the cot/chestdrawers etc. Great bargain! Gets pretty expensive when you set up for a new addition hey. You can almost set up shop when your finished.
Although I do love your new blog look, can I say that it is quite difficult to read the writing. Too see through, if you know what I mean. Maybe it's just me and my eyes though...lol.
Enjoy your last few days off.
Hey Helen - Agree with that it's difficult to read - I liked it as well but before I had a chance to change it we had to go out - so I changed it this morning and now it's a lot easier to read!! xx
Nice update Erica. Great to hear all is well and you've been organising your baby room with all the furniture. How exciting. Not too long and you will meet this precious little one. Wishing you well in the last weeks as you prepare. x
