New Years Day!

Wow we are finally in 2011 – it only seems like yesterday we were in Jurien Bay welcoming in 2010 and now here we are in Port Noarlunga (South Australia) welcoming in 2011!

We survived the New Year’s Eve Party – it was a progressive dinner party – we had entree at Grant’s (Brownie) and Di’s place, then seafood at Derry and Barb’s place, some more food at Dave and Jodie’s house and then our last stop was at the ‘Fullers’ place (can’t think of their names anymore- just remember their surname) – where we enjoyed a swim in a beautiful heated swimming pool! Can you believe it Olivia stayed up the entire night (it did help that she had a 4 hour sleep in the afternoon) – and then we finally jumped in the pool about 1am in the morning and then had a screaming kid at 2am coz we dared to take her out and go home – as soon as we put her to bed she was fast asleep! The good thing about this progressive New Years Eve party is that they all lived close to each other – so we could walk! The ladies all put on some awesome food and very yummy cocktails and we had a really awesome night catching up with everyone from Cape Leveque!

We woke up at 8am this morning – and had bacon and eggs cooked for us by Derry – enjoyed them while sitting on the balcony enjoying views over Port Noarlunga!

After breakfast Derry and Barb took us sightseeing around the area – we drove around Port Noarlunga and then headed down along the coast till we got just out of McLaren Vale where we had lunch at a little cafe on the beach – it was raining (the first rain we have had since going on holidays)! The weather has totally changed from the hot hot day yesterday and has cooled right down which is awesome!

After lunch we headed to McLaren Vale (another awesome wine district south of Adelaide) to visit Marty and Pat who own “Kahl’s Corner” winery – we met Marty up at Cape Leveque last year – one awesome guy and enjoyed their wine so thought we would visit them and check out their winery – he was very surprised to see us to say the least!

Now here I am – Olivia is in bed (catching up on some much needed sleep) – Ryan is out with Derry visiting the “Fuller’s”!

We are having a BBQ tonight at Derry and Barb’s – with Brownie and Di and meeting Derry and Barb’s son Jason – who will be going to Cape Leveque this year for the first time!

Tomorrow is Sunday so a relaxing day before heading on the road again for the long trip home!

 Enjoying enjoying the views!
Derry and Barb, Ryan and Olivia overlooking the beach at Port Noarlunga!
 Beautiful Beach!
