It’s Christmas Eve and we have settled in at Port Pirie (about 300km’s out of Adelaide)! We are here for two days as everything will be shut wherever we go over Christmas and Boxing Day!
It’s HOT – Olivia is sitting in a plastic crate filled with water – which is keeping her happy (well actually she is out of it now and filling it with dirt – which obviously must be fun)! I’m keeping cool by putting my feet in the crate (which is now filled with dirty lol)! We finally had to pull out of two fans which we bought especially for this trip to keep us cool – we are right on the river – so hopefully it will cool down a bit tonight when we have to try to sleep! So far the weather has been fairly cool (especially at night) – but today is our first hot day and Adelaide are expecting hot weather for the next week or so!
Tomorrow is Christmas – going to be a little different not surrounded by family – having our traditional Christmas Day Lunch and Dinner! Oh well time for us to just relax and enjoy some time out from driving – which I think we all need!
I’m looking out the caravan door over across the river and beyond at the Flinders’ Ranges – we have a beautiful camping spot here – just doesn’t get any better than this (just wish we had a little bit more time off – one day we will be doing our trip around Australia – this trip has made us want to do it even more (combined with reading Jo and Troy’s blog and Brad and Michelle’s blog))! We live in such a beautiful country – I think I want to explore as much of this country a possible!
We left Cowell nice and early this morning and headed up through Whyalla and then Port Augusta before heading down to Port Pirie – stopped off at a couple places along the way to explore!
Not much to describe as we settled in and relaxed as soon as we got to Port Pirie – no exploring today – just relaxing – will start exploring tomorrow (after going for a swim at the beach I think)!
Till tomorrow – Christmas Day........
Just another update – it’s finally cooling down – it’s 10.30pm (with daylight saving it takes longer to cool down I guess) – I’m going to have a cold shower now to cool down before I go to bed – till my next blog (that’s whenever I can get internet access again)!
Wishing everyone a wonderful and blessed Christmas xxoo
