We decided to do some more painting....

Well it's been some time since my last post - Life can be very busy sometimes (not that I'm complaining) and I haven't had any time to sit behind my computer at night when I come home from work. There have been family birthday's (two of them) and going out with friends - then there are the social committee meetings (Rockingham Church) and visiting family members, going to the speedway, going to the hairdresser, watching girly flicks with my sister, typing notes for my brother-in-law when he came back from Sumba (he has to do a presentation so asked me to type his journal that he made while over there on Mission Work for Church of Rockingham), looking after my vegetable garden, cleaning my patio, cleaning the house, cleaning the fish tank and doing the laundry etc - yep most of my nights have been busy busy busy.

My body clock is out of wack - now that day light saving has ended I'm getting up that much earlier coz it's light outside already early in the morning. I want daylight saving back - love being able to do things at night after work - now it gets dark already at 6.30 - 7pm. Oh well - I'm not fussed either way - now I will have to find things to do inside instead of outside! The outside work can be done on Saturdays instead!

Hmmmm so last night myself and Ryan had just finished dinner when Ryan all of a sudden mentioned painting one of the feature walls in our living area. Funnily enough i was thinking the same thing (two great minds think alike). So without even talking about it - the pros or con's off we went to Bunnings to buy some paint! The picture below is what it looks like before we have painted it (Ryan has done a bit of the patch work already)!

Tonight we are going to put the first coat of paint on. The colour is....... you will have to wait and see on Friday when we put the final coat on and I take another picture of the finished result. I love these last minute decisions - spur of the moment kind of things.....

Hey Jen as per your question - our Vegetable Garden is going great. Had a mishap with one of the chili plants and tomato plants - they have disappeared - don't know where - but they are gone (must be the snails) - oh well we still 7 chili plants left and 5 tomato plants left! Apart from that the Cabbage Leaves are being eaten - so yesterday I sprayed it with some of Mum's herbal spray - so I shall wait and see and hopefully it works. The rain that we were blessed with and now this sunshine is great for our garden - even our lawns are looking greener then before - so looking forward to some more rain on the weekend! I'm looking forward to my chocolate mint herb plant growing - going to be fun trying the leaves in a tea - could be quite yummy. I'll let you know! I also found a recipe in the Better Homes & Gardens Magazine for mint ice cream using mint leaves - so I'll have to try that one day!

One more week and then we have our second weigh in on Tuesday 8th April! Looking forward to it. We are discovering new ways to cook every night and as time goes by it is definitely getting easier - except for when KFC decides to put ads on TV at night - yummy - cravings - they are smart - they know exactly when to put ad's on - just around dinner time. Oh well when I am at my goal weight - I will be able to have KFC again - just in moderation (moderation being the key word)! Can't believe it's been 7 weeks since we started our lifestyle change - it's gone quite quickly! Before you know it another 8 weeks will have passed and I'll be that much closer to my goal weight. Ryan is going great - he looks fantastic (my sexy hubby again)!. We took out some old photos last night and held them up against some new photos we had taken and then you really notice the difference. I notice it especially in my face - a year ago at the same time my face looks sooooo bloated etc but now it looks healthy again. I'll keep you posted and let you know next week how much we have lost..

Ok once again time for me to go to work. Wish I could have a day off - but works busy at the moment so I'll have to wait!

Bye xx

Hi Erica,
The painting sounds like fun! Oh, and you'll have to show us some before and after shots of you one day.
Love Sarah

Hi Erica,
That was some post. Catchup time. Your evenings sure are busy. Makes me tired thinking about all that stuff you do. But then again, I do that during the day and by night time I'm not worth much anymore. I remember quite well though the busyness of keeping house and working, it's tough.
My body clock and the kids are all out of wack too. The twins were awake at 6:15am this morning again!!! Not good for one's mental state...lol.
The painting sounds like fun. I love the spur of the moment things too. Can't wait to see the result.
Glad to hear your lifestyle change is going well. Your not missing that much with KFC. The last time we had it, it was revolting. I said to Andrew, you don't have to get that again for me. It was soggy and drippy and gross. When are you post before and afters of yourselves? When you reach goal weight or before? I love looking at before and afters.

Great update Erica. You are a busy girl keeping everything in order. It never stops, hey!
Well, all the best with painting - I'm guessing it's going to be RED!!!

Keep up the positive attitude towards the diet - I'm sure you must be feeling great, though not to say that it can't be easy keeping track of what you eat. But it sounds like you are very motivated, especially with getting the vege's up and going. All the best for the next weigh-in - the result will be a nice birthday pressie for you and maybe you can treat yourself. Good on you.
Take care

Hi Erica & Ryan

You are doing well with the veggie patch, I think the snails wait til you aren't looking. If the sprays work then I might have to pick your Mum's brains about them at school.

The chocolate mint is one of my favorite plants, if you scrunch some leaves up in your hands and just smell it for a while it can really take care of cravings.

Doing well with the lifestyle change too, I must admit I am starting to feel a bit motivated when I read your blog. Some changes like this are long overdue for me too.

Can't wait to see the new paintjob !

Cheers, Connie

The next weigh in! A bit of a chickle as i follow the biggest loser and the next weigh in there didnt sound too good, someone has put on weight(Friday night)

Its almost my birthday and i really would love to have my BR done as my present this year.
Hil says just go and get the paint and i will pain, but i dont know how much is my usual reply!

Anyways the rain and sunshine should help your garden grow nicely.

KFC i agree, its nothing you are missing out on, apart from the burgers they are ok!

Well thanks for your big post amidst your busy life.

I have the flu and finding it hard to get motivated. But might do the ironing:)
