Our Weekend...

Well it's been some time since I last wrote. I've had a busy busy weekend. Saturday morning started off with having 18 of my girlfriends over for a champagne breakfast to help me celebrate my birthday. Bet you wondering why was I so crazy to have a breakfast when I can't even eat any of it - lol - I did surprisinly well - wasn't even tempted - Just kept myself busy catching up with all my friends. It was a really nice morning - Ryan helped out with cooking the pancakes etc which was really great. This year I decided to do the breakfast thing - something different and that way I could relax for the rest of the day.

Saturday night me and Ryan decided to take the boat out and go prawning in Mandurah. Once again the weather was perfect the tides were good. We had a great time. I love being out their on the water - the middle of the night relaxing. We have the radio on in the background and stand their with our prawn nets waiting for the prawns to swim along. I take my swag along so that if I get tired or cold Ryan can keep on prawning while I have a sleep and warm up. We usually take a thermos of hot hot soup along (but this time we couldn't because of our diet)! Oh well we took a thermos of hot water along instead and had a nice cup of mint green tea. We caught quiet a few prawns (not too sure how many didn't count them) but we had a bucket full. Nothing better then fresh cooked prawns the next day (and yes we are allowed to eat prawns on this diet - isn't that great). Ryan caught 2 crabs with our crab net (yep another thing we are allowed to eat). Got home late and didnt' get to bed till 1am the next morning.

Me - relaxing and enjoying the beautiful balmy weather!

Ryan!
It was starting to get a bit cold once the sun when down so out came the beany!

Ryan catching pranws!
Happy Ryan! Hmmm I'm not too sure about all that flannel he is wearing - whoever decided to make flannel clothing aught to be shot - it's not fashion and it never will be - Hubby was quiet excited that all his flannel fit him again (spewing - downside of him loosing weight lol)
The sun setting - we had to wait for the sun to set before we could start prawning!Another photo of the suntset with the Mandurah Bridge in the background!

I love these colours in the sky - the different shade of pinks and blue - very pretty! The bridge lights reflecting on the water!
Cleaning the boat after we came back!

Sunday - well that was my birthday of course! I also got a surprise call in the morning from my brother Des - he had some really exciting news - Him and Sue-ellen Hidding got Engaged Saturday night - I am sooooo happy for them both (lol he totaly forgot to say Happy Birthday to me he was that excited and happy - but I forgave him). Anyways got totally spoilt by my hubby. He made me breakfast in bed. He also bought me a new gold watch and an anklet and the "Yates Gardening Guide" book - lucky me. After church I went and visited my sister Joyce (coz it's also her birthday lol)! At night I had mine and Ryan's family over to help me celebrate my birthday. It was a great weekend but I'm glad it's over - I'm really really tired now.

Ok, I've decided that I'm going to put some kind of security on this blog (a bit like what you have Helen). I'm going to leave it a week before I do so - thus giving people the chance to know before it cuts out. To everyone who currently reads my blog (even if you don't leave comments) please let me know. Don't be shy to ask for my blog address - I will give you my blog address via e-mail - So send me an e-mail and let me know (erica-rockingham@hotmail.com) if you wish to keep reading my blog. I'm not too sure how it all works - maybe you already have the address because you are reading it now - but if for some reason you don't just let me know. I don't want to cut you all out from reading it - so yep if it doesn't work next week you know why (then just send me an e-mail - my e-mail address is also in the dial-a-dutchie book)!! Wow hope all that makes sense to you coz it doesn't make much sense to me........ Hope it doesn't inconvenicne you all to much - just feeling a little aprehensive about it at the moment.

Hmmmm I have a question. I'm in the Social Committee for Rockingham Church. Seeing a lot of you are from different churches maybe you can help me. We need to come up with some new and exciting ideas of things to do in our Church. What social events have been organised in your church?? If you have any great ideas can you please let me know.

Well that's about it from me today. When Ryan gets home we are going to plant our fruit trees. Here is a picture of our two apple trees and orange tree.

Our Fruit Trees - Two Apple and One Orange!

Ciao xx

Hi Erica,
Wow, that was a great update. Glad you had a lovely birthday on Saturday and Sunday. It's always a busy time though isn't it. We love our birthdays but love it when it's all over too :)
The prawning looks like fun. We've never done it but it looks all worth it when you come home with yummy prawns. I don't like the peeling of them though.
About the moderating. Those who are currently reading your blog will still be able to read it. It's just that the comments will go via your email first before they appear on your blog. So, in other words, you can censor comments. It doesn't stop anyone reading your blog. Just thought I'd make that clear.
Have a great week.

Had a laugh about your flannel comment. My DH has/had a stash of those in his cupboard. The only time I let him take them out is if he's going hiking with his mates :)!! I noticed the other day some lovely checked jumpers in the shop ... let's hope it's not coming back in fashion!!

It's happening, a wet day today was a blessing in disguise, because the painting is happening.
I went and got the paint and changed my choice of feature wall colour abit...........
What a darling is my hubby, sooo
i think it may even be finished for my birthday.
Its all too exciting, but after today i have to wait till Saturday for DH to hopefully finish it.
Picked out my bedding and some wall pics, now its still the curtains and carpet.....well that will have to wait:)

Good to hear you had a lovely birthday. They are nice to celebrate but also good when they pass by!! Busy times.
Prawning looks like fun; you have a great location to do that from.
Enjoy the rest of the week - it's gone by so quickly as they all do lately.
PS: I actually like the flannel shirts!! And my boys love their flannel pj's. So very warm!!
