I knew it was going to happen - every kid does it - it was just a matter of when - and Saturday was the day! We had just got back from shopping and I had given Olivia a little tub of sultana's - I was busy cleaning the house when all of a sudden I had a hysterical little girl going "nose, nose, sultanta" - hmmmm that only means one thing - she had suffed a sultana up her nose! So I got the torch to see if I could see it - but nope nothing, so I tried to get her to blow her nose - but that didn't work - calmed her down a bit and hoped it would slide down a bit - but nope - so off to emergency I went with Olivia!
Now I'm one of these mums that don't go to emergency very quickly and the whole way there I was thinking - what if there isn't a sultana in her nose, what if she just tried etc etc - we got there and the triage nurse checked to see if they could see it - but nothing - so off to the waiting area to wait for the doctor - 1 and a half hours later we were finally seen!
My normally shy cheeky girl was an absolute angel - she laid down nicely on the bed so the doctor could see up her nose and kept telling the doctor "nose, nose, sultana" and sure enough with the drs special light she could see the sultana - so after consultation with another doctor it was decided they would try to use the tweezer's to get it out - now I was waiting for my little ratbag to through a hissy fit and not let the doctor touch her - seriously I was thinking she was going to have to get sedated - but nope once again she just lay there - so proud of my little princess - well two seconds later out came the sultana and then a general check over and we were clear to go!
So back home again with my cheeky little princess - just in time for me to go with my sister's to a dessert and pastry cooking class in Perth!
Waiting for the doctor to see her - being spoilt with a packet of chips!
