Yesterday I made some homemade honeycomb (was inspired after watching Masterchef on Friday night)!! This is oh soooooo yummy but oh soooooo bad coz the recipe makes a good size batch and when there are only two people eating it - well yeah not good.....Might have to book a date with the dentist soon....
Recipe
1 1/2 Cups Caster Sugar
1/3 Cup Golden Syrup
1/3 Cup Honey
1/3 Cup Water
3 teaspoons Bicarbonate of Soda
Place sugar, golden syrup, honey and water in pan, stir to combine.
Place over heat and bring to the boil - allow to boil for 5 minutes then turn heat to simmer. Simmer on lowest heat for 10-15 minutes making sure you don't burn the mixture! Then quickly whisk in 3 teaspoons of bicorbonate of soda and quickly pour into a lined cake tin. Place in fridge till set.
Make sure you use a large pan coz once you add the bicarb - it froths up quiet high! Have everything ready to go coz the last minutes are a big rush!
To test that mixture is ready, drop a spoonfall of the mixture into a glass of water - it should turn birttle!
Enjoy!

Yum Erica! I don't usually watch the master class but did catch it last week... definately going to give that a shot too!
At the bottom you noted 'to test that mixture is ready...' is that after it's been in the fridge or before you put the bicarb in?
Awww, yuuuuuuum!! Now you just have to dip it into melted chocolate ;) Make it twice as nice (and twice as bad!)
YUM! I so want to try that recipe. Seeing it worked for you I might have to give it a go on the weekend :)
Go masterchef Erica!! I watched master class too and just wanted to eat that whole dessert (that ice cream looked awesome!)
Mel
Looks delish Erica! I think I am gaining weight just looking at
it :(
Oh wow, this looks so good - my kids lover masterchef, so much so that they got the Beef Stroganoff recipe card from Coles and I HAD to make it just for them, though I didn't do the whole home-made pasta - next time - was yum though.
