Recently at the Denmark Markets I had freshly squeezed Lemon Juice - it was divine - so decided to make some for myself!
Ingredients:
• 1 cup sugar
• 1 cup water (for the simple syrup)
• 1 cup lemon juice
• 3 to 4 cups cold water (to dilute)
Method:
Make simple syrup by heating the sugar and water in a small saucepan until the sugar is dissolved completely. While the sugar is dissolving, use a juicer to extract the juice from 4 to 6 lemons, enough for one cup of juice. Add the juice and the sugar water to a pitcher. Add 3 to 4 cups of cold water, more or less to the desired strength. Refrigerate 30 to 40 minutes. If the lemonade is a little sweet for your taste, add a little more straight lemon juice to it.
Serve with ice and sliced lemons. Serves 6.
(Variation - Instead of adding extra 3 to 4 cups water at the end - you can add soda water instead for a sparkling lemonade)!! I'm going to try that next time....

You can double or triple the recipe (depending on how many lemons you have and how much you want to make - I made 1 litre)! I've been enjoying it the past couple of days - so refreshing - especially on a hotter day!
I also learn't an interesting fact about Valencia Oranages - if the skin is green it doesn't mean it isn't ripe coz it is - the reason it goes green has something to do with the sun and the leaves - as you guessed they also had freshly squeezed orange juice and I had to have some of that as well - I made some tonight and am enjoying it as I type!
