Olivia - 1st Needles, 1st time in her own room!!

7 May 2009 - Olivia's 1st Needles - 2 month needles - Immunised Against: Diptheria, Tetanus, Whooping Cough, Hepatitis B, Haemophilus influenzae type B (Hib), Polio, Rotavirus, Pneumococcal!

One very unhappy, unsettled little girl

It was sooooo hard to watch Olivia getting her needles - two - one in either leg. The first one was bad enough but I knew with the second one she was going to scream again (I had tears in my eyes) - just watching her scream was not very nice at all. But I know it's worth it - and by the time we walked out the dr's surgery - she was smiling at me again - everything had been forgotten.

Where she got her needles!

She was very unsettled for about 6 days after her needles but is now back to normal. Her first night after her needles she screamed hysterically for about 3 hrs - we were getting very worried (yeah I know first time parents) that we ended up taking her to emergency - who made us an appointment with the after hours doctor (which was great - coz that meant we didn't have to wait for hrs to be seen) - within 15 minutes we had seen the dr and she told us everything was fine with Olivia - obviously just very unsettled from her needles which we were assured was very normal - she settled down after that - but for the next 6 days every night at the same time she would scream - so who knows what was really wrong!

18 May 2009 - First time in her own cot in her own room. I put her down to sleep at 7pm and she slept the whole night through and woke up at 7am this morning. So proud of my little girl - even I got a really good nights sleep - was worried that I wouldn't coz the first night not in our room - but everything went perfectly.
