Three Springs

I'm home sick today with the flu - but feeling a bit better now coz I've taken heaps of tablets. So thought I may as well write about my time in Three Springs.

Friday afternoon we left at about 2pm to go to Three Springs for their annual Police Golf Day which was being held to raise funds for the St John Ambulance Service. We arrived in Three Springs about 6pm. From their we went to the bowling club for dinner to help Vanessa & Ryan celebrate their 10th wedding anniversary (well Vanessa & Ryan and their kids and my brother Des had dinner). They actually serve diet coke caffeine free at the club their - yey for us we could have a drink other than water. Finally Nigel & Amanda and Shenae arrived about 8pm and we had some more drinks and then went back to Vanessa's Place.

While the guys had some more drinks and chatted myself, Vanessa & Amanda had to get ready for the golf tournament which was the next day. Because Ryan is head cop in Three Springs it falls on Vanessa to organise a lot of the things. It was her responsibility to get things ready for all the prizes and raffles. So we were up to midnight wrapping prizes - making gift baskets, sorting out the many different raffles etc.
Somewhere just outside Bindoon - had a stop to get some drinks out of the esky!
Three Springs Golf Course
Hole 18 - The golf course has a bit of grass now coz of the recent rains but otherwise it's just dirt and sand - typical country but you wouldn't have it any other way.
Nigel - chilling out before the big day!
The next day we were up bright and early. Had our yogurt for breakfast and the guys got ready to play golf. Registering started at 10.30am and the official start was 12pm. 18 holes of golf. The guys left to play golf and us girls went to watch Vanessa play Netball and Cheyenne play footy at the local sports field. We also spent most of the afternoon selling raffle tickets etc. About 4pm we got home and made some salads for the BBQ at the Golf Club that night. We made an Orange and Spinach Salad (very yummy) and a Ceasar Salad (which I couldn't have). We then got ready to catch up with the boys at the club and off we went.
Cheyenne playing footy.
Typical girl - really isn't paying much attention to the game - more interested in hugging the other boys, posing, checking her fingernails etc - very funny to watch.

She actually got the ball!

Vanessa watching the game.

Hmmmmmm I think she was getting a bit bored with the whole game lol

Sierra!

Shenae & Cheyenne enjoying lunch!

Amanda & Sierra chilling out and relaxing, watching Cheyenne playing footy!

Dinner went great - They had some really nice steak and of course I could have the Orange and Spinach Salad (so the tuna goes back in the cupboard). After dinner it was time for announcing the winners etc of the golf tournament and also announce the raffle winners. Ryan won a new beaut jacket in one of the raffles and my brother Des won a golf umbrella for the longest drive on hole 10. Then it was time for the auction. Some really great auction items like a signed Adam Gilchrest bat and a signed Danny Green glove - They fetched prizes well into $1000 (way out of our league)! But it was all for a good cause - The entire day raised $6,000 for the St John Ambulance. They had 80 people playing golf (from Perth, Geraldton, Dongara, Minegnew, Eneabba etc) - so a really good turn out. So if anyone is interested next year May and you have some spare time you are more then welcome to come along! We will definitely be back next year again!

Shenae, Sierra & Cheyenne all ready to go out to the golf club that night (good thing about the country you take your kids everywhere - no need to have babysitters etc)

Sunday we got up early to have breakfast at Vanessa & Ryan's place (bacon and eggs) lol but not us we had to have yogurt - but not to worry - we passed another testing weekend - at times it was hard - very hard - but we did it - very happy about that - it's sooooo easy to cheat but I think we keep each other strong which helps sooooooooo much. It was also easy coz I pre made a lot of the dinners and froze them - so no mucking around - just in the microwave and all ready. I think if we have to go away for a weekend again I'll do that again!

Sunday morning - Ryan, Shenae and my brother Des relaxing waiting for breakfast to be ready!

Me & Ryan (not the best shot of me but photos of me are very rare coz I'm the one carrying the camera around).

Me & Sierra

Well looking forward to going up to Three Springs again (but maybe when it's not soooo busy) so that we can catch up with Vanessa & Ryan again. But the more I go up there the more I want to move to the country somewhere, anywhere - get away from the busyness of life down here and settle down somewhere in a nice town with not tooooo much to do so you can't help but relax. One day.........

Just a photo of the bottle brush plant in Vanessa's front garden!

View from Ryan & Vanessa's front yard. They live in such a peaceful little town. It's so nice to sit on the front porch chilling out and relaxing having breakfast or dinner or just some drinks - watching the sun go down and listening to the kookaburras!

Grain silos at Three Springs!

I took so many photos but can only post a couple of them. Well that was our weekend.

Time for me to go back to bed and watch a dvd.

Bye xx
