Mandurah CrabFest 2008 and My Meal Plan!

Yesterday myself and my sister Amanda and my niece Shenae went to the Mandurah CrabFest! We had a great day (I even got to have some crab for lunch - my allowance of course)!

I also wrote in one of my earlier posts that I would write down a bit about the Cohen's Diet - what we are allowed to have!

My Eating Plan

Meal 1:
65g Cheese (non feta) + 60g vegetable
50g seafood + 60g vegetable
1 egg + 70g vegetable
175g Yoghurt (can be mixed with fruit from your allowance)

Meal 2:
90g meat + 120g vegetable
115g poultry + 100g vegetable
105g seafood + 110g vegetable
120g seafood + 95g vegetable
60g cheese (non feta) + 110g vegetable
55g feta + 110g vegetable

Meal 3:
110g meat + 105g vegetable
100g poultry + 120g vegetable
110g seafood + 100g vegetable

For every day we must choose one line from each meal number. We can't choose two from the same group. The quantities have to be precise (we got a digital scales from them). To make up the vegetable allowance we can have one type of vegetable or a mixture as long as the total weight is our allowance. So far both myself and Ryan have either an omelette or yoghurt for breakfast and then choose lunch and dinner from the next two groups - sometimes being cheese, salad and crackers for lunch and then a hot meal at night. But if we really wanted to we could have the hot meal in the morning for breakfast and yoghurt at night - but this does not really appeal to me!

This is designed as a fast weight loss programme - so no carbohydrates at all (means no bread or pasta - which was a little hard to begin with - but getting more used to it now)! Carbohydrates are restricted so as to allow the balance in the body to be restored.

We also got a list of all the vegetables and fruits that we are allowed to eat on this programme.

We are allowed 2 pieces of fruit per day. I'm allowed 5 crackers and Ryan is allowed 6 crackers. We are also allowed to have upto 1 Litre per day of diet, sugar free soft drinks.

Also we are allowed to have spices (only pure spices eg garlic, curry, paprika, tumeric etc - spices like bbq seasoning and season all are not allowed)!

We must drink at least 3 litres of water a day! Sometimes i find this very hard (especially on the weekends - during work i've constantly got my bottle of water next to me - so its easy to remember (and of course i've got a toilet within close distance - a must when drinking sooooo much water)). But on the weekends i'm out and about - I don't always remember to take my water with me and of course I can never find a toilet when I need one.

Well that's what myself and Ryan can have! It's not as hard as it looks (well to begin with it is - but we have now done 4 weeks and it's all quite easy)!

We get to weigh ourself's tomorrow - Can't wait. Also a little bit aprehensive - I don't want to be disappointed - but whatever the result i'll keep going with this diet.

I'll post either tomorrow or the day after and let you know how myself and Ryan went!

Bye xx

Hi Erica,
I've been sneaky and peeking at your blog since the beginning. Found it through Sarah's. Congratulations on a new lifestyle! Must feel good saying that, hey! I actually did it for a couple of months some time ago, and although I wasn't as strict I did lose about 5kgs. It's amazing, but the water is the BIG thing. I struggle drinking water but it's necessary. Well, good luck for tomorrow, I'm sure you both will have done well.
Ciao, Helen
